Transport North america

Transport North america (French: Carries Canada) is the division within the govt of North america which is responsible for creating rules, policies and services of transportation in North america. It is part of the Transport, Facilities and Areas (TIC) profile. Transport North america has its workplaces in Ottawa, New york.

The Department of Transport was designed in 1935 by the govt of Bill Lyon Mackenzie Master in identification of the changing transportation environment in North america at enough time. It combined three departments: the former Department of Railways and Pathways, the Department of Sea and Fisheries, and the Municipal Aircraft Division of Nationwide Defense under C. D. Howe, who would use the profile to justify the government and supply of all forms of transportation (air, water and land). He designed a Nationwide Harbours Board and Trans-Canada Air Lines. The Department of Transport Act came into force Nov 2, 1936.

Prior to a 1994 govt reorganization, Transport North america had a number of functional obligations such as the Canada Shore Secure, the St. Lawrence Seaway, air-ports and seaports, as well as Via Track and CN Track. Significant reduces to Transport North america in those days led to CN Track being privatized, the coast guard being moved to Fisheries and Sea, and the seaway and various slots and air-ports being moved to local operating government bodies. Transport North america appeared from this process as a division focused on policy and control rather than transportation function.
